On saturday the Bishop of Taranaki, Philip Richardson, officially took up his new role of Archbishop of the Anglican Church in New Zealand in front of a packed Taranaki Cathedral.

“I think the extraordinary level of support right across the community means an enormous amount,” he said.
He admitted he was slightly overwhelmed by the pressure and expectation that came with the role of archbishop but drew confidence from support the community had given him.
