One Response to Same-sex bill might take Church out of civil marriage

  1. Jack says:

While we place our hope in the Lord, it seems in this case we must place our trust in the "Lords".

While there is an obvious needs for civil and just recognition of homosexual relationships, gay people, who are seeking equality will in my opinion, never be equal. They cannot be as we understand marriage today.

It may well be argued that's the point, namely a redefinition of marriage, but surely to redefine something, to include people that don't fit the current definition doesn't make the 'different' people equal.

Marriage by nature is between a man and a woman. The marriage of two people from the same gender can never be equal.

Marriage by nature is about the love of the couple, but intrinsically associated with that is the ability to procreate. Gay people cannot procreate with each other, it's a choice they simply cannot make.

    How can that be equal?

I'm open to be convinced otherwise, but at the moment, I just don't see it.
