Priest divides time between two towns

Father Hamesh Wyatt is happy to be spending Easter in the heart of Southland.

As the newly-appointed parish priest for Winton and Te Anau, he’ll certainly be spending a lot of time on the road enjoying the province.

Not daunted by the dual appointment in two different towns, Fr Hamesh said he was just pleased to be in the south where, after 20 years as a priest, he has spent most of his time.

“I’m actually quite excited about it all. This is a lovely part of the country and coming from Southland it’s nice to be among local people in the heart of Southland.”
