    He must have helped in Auckland when he retired as Bishop of Dunedin. We often met him and he was always so friendly

      We had dinner with him at home when he looked after Pt Chevalier Parish. Very entertaining and interesting conversations!

    He said to my late wife and myself, when invited to Wellington, to be asked to become Bishop, he said o.k. I’ll take a walk and think about it.

    I then went back and said, o.k.God got me this far, I accept.

    He was then requested not to go to race meetings in his clerical clothes. May God bless you Bishop Len.
