3 Responses to Mayor changes mind on $15K fee for building 2 classrooms

  1. Eileen Auckram says:

Shame on the Christchurch Council for charging $150,000 because the Catholic school at Dallington was ruined by the earthquake and they now have merged with another school and needed 2 new classrooms. This was a charge which is unbelievable, under the circumstances

  2. adrian mcnamara says:

Liane Dalziel was educated at the Catholic school of St Patricks. Let the Catholic people of Christchurch pray for the situation and for something of the faith of her fathers to emerge in the mayor in this matter.

  3. Kevin Havell says:

Has the Council treated State schools in the same matter after mergers? That is insisting that schools pay major contributions to the Council as a consequence of building additional classrooms? Have similar fees initially demanded of schools been waived?Or is this an example of cynical secular humanist discrimination against Catholic schools?
