One Response to Hundreds of dead infants found at Irish convent

  1. Catherine Kilgour says:

For some reason I thought this site provided a Catholic point of view on current news. This is just an article copied from mainstream media lacking many of the basic facts associated with this article.

The Commission was established following because the historian had a large number of death certificates but no burial notices. The mothers were unwed so were unlikely to be able to pay for their child to be buried so the Nuns did the best they could which was bury the children on their own property.

This all came out in the news three years ago it isn’t a new ‘discovery’ like the shared article implies. The report has just come out in Ireland which is why it is in the news again.
