Putin is St Paul reincarnated

Vladimir Putin has been many things in his life – KGB agent, president of Russia, art critic, motorcyclist, dog owner, bear tagger, fire-fighter, tiger tamer, singer and judo master, to name a few.

Now, some believe he is the reincarnation of the early Christian missionary, Paul the Apostle.

According to a report on news site canada.com, a group of women living in a village 400km southeast of Moscow have begun worshipping Putin, believing he is on a mission from God.

“According to the Bible, Paul the Apostle was a military commander at first and an evil persecutor of Christians before he started spreading the Christian gospel,” says sect founder Mother Fotina.

“In his days in the KGB, Putin also did some rather unrighteous things. But once he became president, he was imbued with the Holy Spirit, and just like the apostle, he started wisely leading his flock.”

The sect, which survives on a diet of carrots, turnips, peas and buckwheat, dress like nuns and pray in front of a portrait of the Russian prime minister.

Putin’s spokesman has warned the sect not to be blasphemous.

“It is impressive that they think so highly of the prime minister’s work, but I would like to recall the commandment: thou shalt not worship false idols,” says Dmitry Peskov.
