Kevin Black farewelled at St Patrick’s Cathedral

Broadcasting great Kevin Black was farewelled at a service in Auckland on Monday.

Black ‘s coffin was carried into St Patrick’s Cathedral to the rock song Welcome to the Boomtown for his funeral service in Auckland on Monday afternoon.

Priests led the procession to the ’80s David & David song followed by family and friends carrying the black coffin covered in white flowers.

Hundreds of people have filled the Catholic cathedral to celebrate “the life and legacy of a truly remarkable man”, Monsignor Bernard Kiely told the congregation.
