Pope Francis has congratulated a single mother on her decision to give birth to two daughters, telling her not to be ashamed.
The exchange took place during a video link up between the Pope and people from Chicago, Los Angeles and McAllen, Texas.
Single mother Rosemary Farfan told the Pope she had made some mistakes and had felt guilty and ashamed.
Pope Francis told her it is “not easy” to be single mother, and praised her courage.
“You respected the life you were carrying inside you and God is going to reward you for that and he does reward for you for that. Don’t be ashamed . . . . I congratulate you.”
