Wellington rugby club Marist St Pat's (MSP) two Black Ferns, Monica Tagoa'i and Marcelle Parkes, are on tour with team's historic tour to the United States and France where they are playing against the US in Chicago and France in Toulon and Grenoble.

The Black Ferns are New Zealand's senior women's rugby team and the most dominant team in women's rugby with Women's Rugby World Cup titles in 1998, 2002 2006, 2010 and 2017.

They have one of the best winning percentages in international rugby, with victory in close to 90 percent of their Tests.

MSP was honoured to have two players in the team and Rugby Director, Zak Feaunati, presented them with a donation on behalf of the club before they flew out from Wellington. Source: msprugby.co.nz

The New Zealand Marist Rugby Football Federation's annual Spillane Cup Tournament will be taking place this weekend in Lower Hutt.

The origins of this tournament go back to 1926 with the original match for the Spillane Cup being played between Wellington and Wanganui.

The official opening will take place at 6pm on Friday 8 March at the Hutt Old Boys Marist clubrooms at the Hutt Recreation Ground.

The netball and rugby competition take place on Saturday

After being absent in 2013, Wellington's Marist St Pat's Club will return to the competition this year.

NZ Marist Rugby Football Federation is an organisation initiated to promote and foster a spirit of union, co-operation and close friendly relations between all Marist and similar rugby union football clubs in New Zealand, the Pacific and around the world.

Marist St Pats Life Member and club legend Kevin Horan was made a Life Member of the St Patrick's College Rugby Club on 27 June 2013.

Kevin started his rugby career when he started school at Marist Brothers. He played for the SPC 1XV in 1964 and 1965 and after leaving College joined Marist St. Pat's where he went on to play over 200 games; he was part of the first MSP team to win the Jubilee Cup. Kevin played 100 games for Wellington between 1971 and 1980, captaining Wellington in 1980. Continue reading
