The Archbishop of Canterbury, The Most Reverend Rowan Williams and his wife Dr Jane Williams will land in Port Moresby at dawn on Saturday as part of a five day tour of the country.
“I am delighted to be visiting Papua New Guinea and to be able to experience at first-hand the remarkable life of the church in this nation and its contribution to the wider community,” the Archbishop said in a statement on Wednesday.
“I look forward to discussions with church leaders from different churches and with national leaders over the nation’s priorities for its people.
“I am very grateful to the Government of Papua New Guinea for its hospitality and its support.”
His Grace will travel to Popondetta on the Pacific nation’s north coast before heading to Oro Bay to visit St Margaret’s Anglican Hospital and open a new Anglican teacher’s college.
