Lay Marists and Brothers plan a closer association

The Pacific Assembly of the New Zealand Marist Brothers Province was held recently in Suva at the Champagnat Institute 38 people including 12 Lay Marists attended from the contributing nations of Fiji, Samoa and Kiribati. This was the first time that lay people were there in numbers and they did influence some thinking within the Assembly.

Lay Marists and Brothers plan closer a association.  People from each of the countries represented prepared statements regarding the way they intend moving the relationship between Brothers and Lay people

Alan  Parker is the Director of Champagnat Partnership and does formation work for Lay Marists in partnership with the Brothers. His work covers New Zealand, Fiji, Samoa and Kiribati.  After the Assembly he met with groups in Fiji and Kiribati.
