Refurbished church, parish centre opens in Inglewood

It’s been a weekend for celebrating at Sacred Heart Parish in Inglewood as the congregation opened its newly refurbished church and parish centre.

The $1.5 million project has been many years in the making and with work finally finished it was time to party for the parishioners.

It features a redone church and a brand new parish centre building beside it.

Bishop Charles Drennan, of the Palmerston North Diocese, was the special guest on Saturday as the upgraded church, chapel, baptismal font and repository for the holy oils were blessed in a rededication service.
