No date set for ordination of Fiji’s new Archbishop

No date has been confirmed for the consecration of the new Catholic archbishop elect Father Peter Loy.

The head of the church in Fiji Archbishop Petero Mataca, said in an interview with this newspaper that a date had yet to be confirmed.

“We have yet to choose a date and the archbishop elect will have to let us know when is the best time for him,” he said.

“It is also up to him to choose who will do the consecration ceremony.”

Archbishop Mataca said church officials from Rome would not be present for the ceremony.
