It is hoped that the pupils under canvas in five Christchurch primary schools will soon be able to return to their classrooms.
On 17 February blocks were closed at St Mary’s School and Our Lady of Assumption School Hoon Hay. Some days later pupils at schools St Bernadette’s, Hornby, Christ the King, Burnside and St Peter’s, Beckenham moved into marquees, after their buildings were deemed earthquake-prone.
The work was expected to take seven to ten days.
