A Nadi Christian Church puts spotlight on abortion

A Christian organisation in Nadi, Fiji, holds weekly mini-marathons to raise awareness about abortions and unplanned pregnancy.

Since December last year, members of the Living Way church have been walking or running with Tee-shirts emblazoned with the biblical text, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations” (Jeremiah 1:5).

The church’s pastor, Conan Hatch, said they started the Life Runners programme to raise awareness about the importance of life “because God views fetuses as being just as important as those of us who have emerged out of the womb.”

The Church has about 70 members who have signed up for their programme.

They hope that young girls or women who are going through a difficult period in their lives will turn to God or come and talk to them about their issue.

Conan, a born again Christian, thinks that if someone is attending a church without being “born-again”, they must take urgent steps to be born-again.

He also believes that Christians should not practice Yoga.

“I find that the practice of Yoga is not compatible and good for Christians as it has various underpinnings to Hinduism,” he says.
