Same sex marriages are to be discussed by the Anglican Church, after a motion was passed at its synod in Fiji on Wednesday.
About 160 church members are attending the meeting, where the Reverend Glynn Cardy put forward a motion asking the church to have a conversation about the nature of marriage, and how it might respond to the request for same sex marriages.
Archbishop David Moxon says the motion will give the church a chance to think, discuss and listen.
